Assistant Director
The role of an assistant director on a film includes tracking daily progress against the filming production schedule, arranging logistics, preparing daily call sheets, checking cast and crew, and maintaining order on the set. They also have to take care of the health and safety of the crew.The first assistant director (AD) is the director’s right hand. First ADs plan the filming schedule, working with the director, director of photography and other heads of department to ensure an efficient shoot. In pre-production, they break down the script, analysing it for what will be needed in terms of cast, locations, equipment and crew. They lead recces, going off to locations to assess their suitability for filming. Then they input the scripts into Movie Magic software, which helps them work out what to film and when, depending on the availability of cast and locations. They write the shooting schedule and work out how long each scene will take to film. During filming first ADs manage the set, which leaves the directors free to focus on the actors and framing the shots.

Ahadul Islam Mamun

Film Editor

Ahadul Islam Mamun is working with us since August’ 2015 as Film-Editor (Contractual) for Cultural program(s) editing, as part of his works he edits motion pictures film and arranges film segments into sequences to achieve proper dramatic, comedic and thematic effects. Ahadul works with the raw footage, selecting shots and combining them into sequences which create a finished motion picture. The role of a Film-Editor on a film includes tracking daily progress against the filming production schedule, arranging logistics, preparing daily call sheets, checking cast and crew, and maintaining order on the set. Ahadul is expertise to use the video panels and editing related software with the other equipment. He also uses video camera to record live cultural events, films, videos, etc. and familiar with production concepts and requirements. He checks the condition of the projection copy, set-up and load film reels on movie theatre projection systems, adjust focus, sound levels and other projector and theatre settings; and maintain projection equipment. He communicates with directors & senior members of camera crew to discuss assignment and determine filming sequences, camera movements and picture compositions. As part of his education backgrounds Ahadul completed his Master’s and Bachelor with honours degree in English Literature & also completed Diploma in Film & Media Studies.

Some lesser related credits should still be submitted to the crew section, such as runner, production intern, production assistant, and assistant to director. However, there are some exceptions to this: trainee assistant director credits (e.g., DGA trainee) should be submitted to the assistant director section.
